Sidana
Systems, Inc. Announces Support for ECIX Standards
SAN
FRANCISCO, CA (June 15, 1998). At the Design Automation Conference
(DAC) in Moscone Center today, Sidana Systems, Inc. (SSI) announced
support of the standards developed for Electronic Component Information
Exchange (ECIX), a project of the Silicon Integration Initiative,
Inc. (Si2). The ECIX standards define a common electronic format
for exchange of semiconductor component documentation, or "databooks."
Today's announcement stated that 1) SSI is prepared to assist companies
in creating ECIX-compliant databooks and 2) SSI's electronic publishing
product Docsan(TM) will support these databooks in the fully indexed
collections it produces for CD and website distribution.
Si2
will also be distributing a custom Docsan CD at DAC. This CD contains
Si2's ECIX presentations, standards, sample instances, and product
information from the vendors supporting the initiative. Si2 will
use the CD to demonstrate ECIX and will distribute copies to attendees
who express an interest in implementing the standards. "We
greatly appreciate Sidana Systems' assistance in producing the ECIX
Toolkit CD and are very happy to have them on board as one of the
outstanding companies who have declared their support for ECIX,"
said John Teets, Technology Program Manager for Si2. "Their
extensive experience with semiconductor databook production services
and their Docsan product technology will be put to good use by companies
delivering ECIX-compliant documents."
SSI's
President Ashmeet Sidana said, "The ECIX standards will aid
significantly in the communication and exchange of databook information.
This information is very extensive, highly complex, and rapidly
changing, and therefore sophisticated tools are necessary to deliver
it in an accurate and timely manner. Docsan's innovative Web-based
architecture and SSI's successful track record publishing hundreds
of thousands of pages of semiconductor information has prepared
us to extend our unique mix of products and services to support
this important new standard."
